Theater from Tohoku: Spiritual Exchange beyond Remembrance of the Earthquake Disaster and History between Japan, China, and Korea

A theater project that involves Japanese theater people based in the Tohoku region as well as stage actors, musicians, and photographers from China and Korea is scheduled to tour eight cities in the three countries, starting with a performance in Aomori, Japan, on October 11, 2013.

Young Female Players of Traditional Japanese Music to Visit Latin America and Perform with Famous "Folklore" Musicians

Musical duo "FUGA," who brings together the traditional elements of Japanese music and the sensitivity of present day sounds, toured Argentina and Chile from July 15 to 24, 2013. The duo is comprised of Chie Hanawa, the youngest winner of the women's A grade competition in the All Japan Tsugaru Shamisen Championship, and shakuhachi player Yoshimi Tsujimoto.

A Learning Journey to Japan: Superintendent of a U.S. Public School District Aiming to Strengthen the U.S.-Japan Friendship

The learning tour, sponsored by the Japan Foundation, would include lectures, school visits, trips to cultural and historical sites, and information exchange opportunities with Japanese educators. By the end of the tour it was clear to all participants those high expectations were exceeded.
