The Japan Foundation Grants for Manga Projects?--Funding for the translation and publication of "Gekiga Hyoryu" in English and Indonesian

With the Japanese word "manga" gaining global status, numerous manga works are now being commercially translated and published into various languages, reaching readers worldwide. Meanwhile, at the Japan Foundation, where our mission is to support projects to promote Japanese culture that would not be feasible in the private sector, we have been trying to figure out the most effective way to be involved in the promotion of manga.

The Japan Foundation, Manila:10-10-10: The Role of Young Leaders to Build a Shared Future

Various activities and events were conducted all over the world on October 10, 2010 in celebration of the date "10-10-10"; and, in 10 Southeast Asian countries including the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei etc., the tree planting activities were held simultaneously.
