Activity Reports:Japanese-Language Education Overseas:Training Program for the U.S. Teachers of the Japanese Language for 2010

From June 18 to July 17, 2010, an intensive four-week training course for K-16 Japanese-language teachers from U.S. was held at the Japan Foundation Japanese Language Institute, Urawa in cooperation with the Alliance of Associations of Teachers of Japanese (AATJ).

The Japan Cultural Institute in Rome:An Event on the Tiber Island "Un'isola del Giappone"

On July 6 and 7, an event to introduce Japanese culture called "Un'isola del Giappone" took place on the Tiber Island (Isola Tiberina), a small island on the Tiber River in Rome.

The Japan Foundation, Seoul:The Vitality of Kurosawa's Films

The great Japanese film director Akira Kurosawa was born in 1910. In 2010, "The 100th Anniversary Film Festival of Akira Kurosawa's Birth" took place in Seoul and Pusan to commemorate the centennial.

Learning Japanese Through Anime & Manga--the 11th JAPAN EXPO in Paris--

The 11th annual JAPAN EXPO, the world's largest festival celebrating Japanese popular culture, took place in Paris, France, from July 1-4, 2010, organized by the SEFA EVENT company and held at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center. The Japan Foundation's exhibition introduced the entertaining world of Japanese language to a large number of interested visitors.

Stories from Japanese Language Training: Participants from Mongolia and Cuba

With assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Japan Foundation has been inviting young diplomats, mainly from Official Development Assistance (ODA) recipient countries, for training on Japanese language and culture.
